Uki Goshi

Uki-goshi - Floating Hip

Uki-goshi is another technique that is demonstrated in distinctly different ways.

1. Much like the Jitsu hip technique. Turn half way into your partner, arm around their back, making a T shape with yours and their feet. Pull them across your hip to the floor. This is the way that it is performed in Nage No Kata, often explained that this is a technique that could easily be performed in large armour, like a Samurai's.

2. My favourite way of performing this technique is to turn in the same as above, but instead of the drag, lift up with the side of your hip and float your opponent around.
