| Sukui-nage - Scoop Throw
Sukui-nage is the official name for all throws that carry the name te-guruma. However, in the BJA gokyo, the two techniques are seperate. For the version above, one hand is thrown in between the uke's legs and scoops up uke into the air, the other hand throwing their top-half downwards. Obviously, this technique can sometimes result in a male uke being 'caught in the wrong place', this would then make the technique Kin-tsukami, or the testicle grab. This throw can also be executed to the reverse as in the below video: Due to the grip, this throw can also be referred to as waki-otoshi, or the armpit drop. |
