Morote Gari

Morote-gari - Double-hand Reaping

Morote-gari is basically a two-handed soto-ashi-dori, indeed it is also called nidan-ashi-dori. In the video you can see that tori's legs are together - someone of a big build may find this easier to have one leg forward to ensure that both uke's legs stay on the outside of tori's legs. Also from the video, you can see that the technique can be performed from a rei-ing position with the uke diving in at the uke's legs.

Other names for this technique include ryote-ashi-dori, ryo-ashi-dori and soto-morote.
