Morote Kata Sode Tai Otoshi

Morote-kata-sode-tai-otoshi - Double-hand Single Sleeve Body Drop

Morote-kata-sode-tai-otoshi is another of the kokusai-shiai-waza whos name is almost more complicated than the throw itself! This, like others in the kokusai-shiai-waza, needs to have the name broken down. The end part being the main throw - Tai-Otoshi (Body Drop), the rest of the technique becomes Morote (Double-Hand) Kata (Single) Sode (Sleeve) Tai-otoshi... So, a Tai Otoshi with both hands on one single sleeve.

This could therefore happen when tori is failing to get a decent tsurite grip so as the hikite starts to pull round as tori moves in for a Tai-otoshi, the tsurite takes hold close to the hikite on the one sleeve. This technique can also use the elbow of the tsurite, much like as in Morote-seoi-nage, but shallower.
