Koshi Guruma

Koshi-guruma - Hip Wheel

Koshi-guruma, like most hip throws is a variation of O-goshi.

To execute the technique, enter as you would an O-goshi, but point right hand up towards your opponents shoulder, and turn around further so that it is more of your left side that is touching your partner, rather than your back. With the force of your arm, roll your partner across the width of your back.

I have also seen and heard a translation of 'Koshi' as head, and Kubi-nage being mistaken for Koshi-guruma. This is obviously not correct as the whole movement of the two throws differ enormously.
