| Hiza-soto-muso - Knee Outer twist-down (Knee Outer Leg)
Hiza-soto-muso originates from the sumo technique soto-muso (hence me using the 'sumo translation', so let's look at that from http://ifaq.wap.org/sumo/sumotech.html:
Sotomuso: outer-thigh-grabbing twist-down; the attacker's arm is over his opponent's and then brushes the area behind his rival's right knee and twist him down to the right.
In the Judo version it may be best thought of as a leg block after a failed ippon-seoi-nage. From a stationary position, pull round with the hikite as the tsurite makes contact with the ukes knee. It is very difficult to lift the uke here, but is possible. |
