Kano Attendance Scheme

With the Kano scheme, students receive attendance badges and in their first renewal pack stand-up colour-in throws, and a large sticker (pictured).

Large Kano Sticker

Until January 2009, Akitas had given all the badges to the students. However, along with the sticker scheme, Akitas have now implemented an attendance scheme to reward students for their attendance; promoting even more good practice (gradings and merit badge scheme all ready being used).

We realised that as the attendance books come with 48 spaces, that an attendance book would fit into a year of Judo. With 6 badges in total (4 of one sort, 2 of another), the badges fit into place for one badge for 8 spaces filled; with the 2 different badges for 24 spaces filled (or one page).

As a renewal kano pack comes with 3 cut-out stand-up throws (pictured) and one sticker, we decided that the throws could be for each 12 spaces filled, and the sticker for completion of the second book.

As there is not currently a third renewal pack, kanos can then move onto the attendance scheme that we introduced for our juniors.
