Finally, a set date for all Akitas gradings - 10th January 2008 at Rayleigh Leisure Centre. Get revising through the promotion pages!
Information is currently showing 1 mon or 1 kyu raise at a time only (as opposed to previous gradings), so concentrate on what you need. Don't worry, now one is set these gradings will be regular once again!
I have now received clarification in PDF form of the new rules that have been discussed recently at the club. To help clear this up for everyone, I have uploaded the PDF's to the site so that you all have access. I will be placing these somewhere more suitable in due course: New Rules 2009 Negativity Kumi-kata (Grips) Sokuteiki Rules - How to use a Sokuteiki*
*To improve Judogi use, the introduction of a new measuring tool, 'a Sokuteiki' has been made. However, these rules will not be as strict within the UK for non-international events.
And the above is just one of the video demonstrations in our ever expanding technique pages - covering ALL tachi-waza in the new BJA Kyu and MonTechnical Syllabi!
What's New in the last week?!
28/12/2008 - Sorry it's been slow over Christmas! New video for Yama-arashi finally uploaded, thanks to a return visit from Andrew Buxton. Video also uploaded to front page :).
29/12/2008 - With the advent of the new IJF rules being accepted by the BJA, I have uploaded PDF's to the front page; New Rules 2009, Kumi-kata rules, Negativity rules, Sokuteiki rule and How to use a Sokuteiki. I will put these somewhere within the pages eventually.
31/12/2008 - Typo's corrected, sorry about that!
I'm still in the process of completing these pages, but most things are now working and all those nasty broken links should all be cleared. If you do find anything broken, or any other comments please let me know asap on sensei@akitasjudo.com. Enjoy!
When Akitas Judo Club opened in Southend, it was the only BJA Judo Club in
Southend-on-Sea; something that has now been built upon after our successful reintroduction of Judo into the area.
We endeavour to fit all needs
- from the humble beginner that is only interested in a small taste of
the Olympic Sport of Judo, to the experienced Judoka keen to further
themselves to fight for their country.
